Medicine and Meditation
with Don Koehler, Cheryl Pallant & Joel Kreisberg
March 13th - March 16th
By Invitation - In Person
Our world is at a turning point, and change starts within us. When we awaken to our interconnectedness, we gain the clarity and compassion needed to shape a brighter future for ourselves, our communities, and our planet. Are you ready to open your heart, expand your mind, and explore a deeper connection to life?
This four-day retreat offers the opportunity to connect deeply with like-minded participants through sacred medicine and meditation. Under the supervision of highly trained psychologist, each participant will have the opportunity to guide and be guided through a sacred journey. This journey creates a collective sense of being part of something larger, of connecting to something bigger, something transcendent. Meditation is an ongoing way to integrate and access these transcendent experiences regularly.
Meditation grounds and centers you, allowing you to approach your journey with openness and courage.
Sacred medicine deepens insight and healing, offering openings of the heart, mind, and spirit.
Together, they help you integrate profound, transcendent experiences into daily life, fostering long-lasting transformation.
How Is This Retreat Organized?
Medicine and Meditation are organized around three streams of practice. A regular meditation structure will set the container. The formal and creative embodied movement will engage our bodies. The center of the retreat is a sacred medicine journey led by a trained psychotherapist.
Meditation
Led by Ekai Joel Kreisberg, formal 30-minute meditation practice will occur twice daily for full days, plus the evening of the first day and the morning of the second day. Instructions will be offered for everyone. Meditation in a group is a powerful tool for creating a group harmonic structure.
Embodied Movement
Led by Cheryl Pallant, periods of movement practice will include formal practices, such as yoga and qi gong, and more informal practices, such as creative movement and free dance. Movement practice will be offered twice daily for full days, Thursday evening and Sunday morning.
Sacred Medicine Journey
Led by Hosho Don Koehler, the center of the retreat is the sacred medicine journey each participant will undertake once during the retreat. With a strong setting and proper guidance from Dr. Koehler, participants will be partnered, one participant taking the medicine with the other serving as witness and support. Sacred Medicine journeys will take place on Friday and Saturday.
Strong Set and Setting
While these three streams of practice form the core practice, the setting is also an important aspect of the retreat. Everyone will be staying at the facility in western Virginia's farm country. There will be ample time allotted for integration work. Meals will be provided three times daily, though dinner will be the only formal meal together.
Essential Silence
When not in formal session, the retreat will honor Essential Silence, the practice of withdrawing from daily conversation, cell phone use, or reading.

The retreat will be held near Sperryville, VA, about 90 minutes from Washington, DC, two hours from Richmond, VA, and four hours from Philadelphia, PA.
