Ksitigarba or Jizo is revered in Japan as the protector of children and travelers. Jizo means “Earth Storehouse: one might consider him/her as the earth mother Bodhisattva, serving as the womb like security of the earth. Join us for the fifth of the seven bodhisattva archetypes from Taigen Dan Leighton’s Faces of Compassion. This session explores Ksitigarbha as a Bodhisattva archetype.
Share with the sangha as we listen to the reflections of senior dharma teacher Kenshin Cian Whalley, followed by question and response. After a short break you are invited to our weekly morning service and zazen practice.
The Spring Practice Period is open to anyone.

About Kenshin Cian Whalley
Kenshin was given his dharma name as a student of Emyo Darlene Tataryn. He was ordained by Taiso Roshi in 2022. He continues his journey as a dharma teacher in Vancouver, BC.
